During the recent Annual Ridgeline walk, our group was delighted to spot Cunningham’s Skinks (Egernia cunninghami) basking on an isolated rocky outcrop.

European wasps are becoming an increasing concern across the Mansfield region. These aggressive invaders not only disrupt outdoor activities and picnics, but also pose a serious threat to our local environment, native wildlife, and community wellbeing.

Mansfield’s Mullum Wetlands proved to be the perfect setting for an eager group of 14 bird watchers on Saturday, 11th October. Guided by local ecologist Bertram Lobert, participants enjoyed the first walk in a new series of bird-focused events sponsored by the Delatite Landcare Group.

Last Friday, Up2Us had the pleasure of visiting Mansfield Primary School to spend an hour with the Grade 1 students learning about the important role trees play in supporting wildlife.

Grade 5 students have been enthusiastically designing their own nest boxes. Using cardboard models, they’ve been testing their ideas to ensure the boxes will be safe, functional, and wildlife-friendly.
