Fords Creek Volunteer Session
Our monthly Fords Creek volunteer session was another great opportunity to care for our local environment, with four of us getting together this morning to tackle ash trees growing along the creek bank.
Managing weeds and unwanted vegetation along waterways is an important part of supporting healthy creek ecosystems and creating better conditions for native plants and wildlife.
While we were hard at work, we were treated to a lovely reminder of why these efforts matter: a family of ducks and their ducklings making their way down the creek!
Sightings like this are always encouraging and remind us that our local waterways provide important habitat for wildlife. While there’s plenty of work still to do, it’s moments like these that make the effort worthwhile.
A big thank you to our volunteers, Chris and Dylan, for giving up their time to help care for Fords Creek. Every volunteer session makes a difference, and we’re grateful to everyone who gets involved in looking after our local environment.
