Delatite Landcare Group Bird Walk

On Sunday morning, members of the Delatite Landcare Group gathered at Boorolite for a bird walk led by Ecologist Bertram Lobert. The conditions were ideal — calm, clear, and full of spring activity.

Over the course of the morning, 31 woodland bird species were seen or heard, including several quick-moving species darting between trees and shrubs. While not easy to photograph, a few lucky shots managed to capture their energy.

Beyond the birds, participants enjoyed observing the rich variety of life in the landscape — butterflies drifting through the mistletoe, wallabies quietly grazing, and bursts of wildflowers brightening the bush.

The walk concluded in classic Landcare fashion — gathered around a campfire with a hot cup of tea, sharing observations, bird calls, and stories from the field.

A big thank you to Bertram Lobert for sharing his expertise and enthusiasm, and to all who joined for another rewarding day connecting with nature and community.
