Chemical and Baiting training a hit in Bonnie Doon
Last week, Up2Us Landcare Alliance hosted two days of chemical training at the Bonnie Doon Community Centre, with a total of 26 participants attending across both sessions. The first day focused on Chemical User Training (ACUP), while the second covered 1080/PAPP baiting. Participants gained hands-on experience and practical knowledge under the guidance of trainer Leon Carter from ChemCERT, covering safe handling, application, and storage of agricultural chemicals, as well as compliance with relevant legislation.
The sessions were fully booked, reflecting strong local interest in developing safe and effective chemical use practices. Attendees received guidance on applying for their Agricultural Chemical User Permits (ACUP) and access to ongoing resources from Agriculture Victoria, ACTA, and other industry partners.
Up2Us would like to thank Leon Carter for delivering the training and the Bonnie Doon Community Centre for providing excellent facilities. The training provided valuable skills to support sustainable pest and chemical management in the region.
These training sessions are supported by the Victorian Government through the Agriculture Victoria Partnership Against Pests Program.
