Maggie Joins Up2Us for Work Experience

Last week we were thrilled to welcome Maggie, a work experience student and aspiring environmental leader, to Up2Us Landcare Alliance. We first met Maggie during our Extension Training with Landcare program back in February, where she stood out as an enthusiastic and thoughtful participant. Since then, Maggie has stayed connected with us — volunteering her time at one of our Fungi Days and again last week for a deeper dive into Landcare life.

During her time with us, Maggie got a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work in a community environmental organisation. She helped us prepare for an upcoming field day, contributed to a grant application, and experienced the reality of juggling priorities in a busy not-for-profit office.

Later in the week, Maggie joined us on the ground to assist with our Soil Day, helping deliver a hands-on learning event for local landholders and community members.

Maggie’s initiative, willingness to learn, and positive energy were a joy to have around. We’re proud to support young people like Maggie who are passionate about land stewardship and community action. It's always exciting to see the next generation of Landcare leaders in action!

Thank you, Maggie, for your help — and we hope to see you again soon!
