Mansfield Shire Paterson’s Curse Initiative
The Paterson’s Curse Control Program is designed to support landholders in managing this invasive weed on their property. Delivered by Up2Us Landcare Alliance in partnership with Mansfield Shire Council, the program provides financial support to effectively treat Paterson’s Curse. By supporting best-practice chemical control methods, the program helps protect pasture productivity, native vegetation, and biodiversity, while reducing the spread of this persistent weed.
We're pleased to offer the following support to landholders:
Individual Rebates: 50% rebate up to $350 for woody weed control using woody weed specific herbicides or engaging a local weed contractor
Neighbourhood Approach: For multiple landholders working together on strategic multi-property weed control (minimum of three neighbouring properties):
50% rebate up to $450 per property
Additional Support Services:
Free property visits with a multi-year Paterson’s Curse management plan tailored to your property
Access to a 200-litre battery-powered spray unit for hire

Technical advice on best practice control methods
