Mansfield Shire Paterson’s Curse Initiative
The Paterson’s Curse Control Program is designed to support landholders in managing this invasive weed on their property. Delivered by Up2Us Landcare Alliance in partnership with Mansfield Shire Council, the program provides financial support to effectively treat Paterson’s Curse. By supporting best-practice chemical control methods, the program helps protect pasture productivity, native vegetation, and biodiversity, while reducing the spread of this persistent weed.
The following rebates are available in the 2025-2026 financial year:
Single landholder rebates of 50% up to $350 for the control of Paterson’s Curse by using broadleaf specific herbicides or engaging a local weed contractor.
For multiple landholders working together on strategic multi-property weed control programs, incentives of a 50% up to $450 per property for the control of Paterson’s Curse by using broadleaf specific herbicides or engaging a local weed contractor. A minimum of three neighbouring properties is required to be eligible for this rebate.
