Tree Planting Success at Maindample

On Sunday, Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail hosted a community tree planting day at Maindample along the rail trail. Fourteen dedicated volunteers, ranging from young children to seasoned locals, rolled up their sleeves and planted 170 native trees and shrubs.

The event was filled with community spirit and teamwork, with everyone contributing to help improve habitat along the rail trail and enhance the natural landscape for walkers, riders, and wildlife alike. The weather was on our side, with the sun breaking through just in time to warm the morning and lift spirits.

After the planting, volunteers were treated to a delicious lunch provided by the Produce Store—a well-earned reward for their hard work. Days like this highlight the power of community working together to make a lasting difference to our environment.

A heartfelt thank you to all who came along and contributed to a successful and enjoyable day!
