Fungi Season in the Howqua Valley Howqua Valley Landcare Group

After recent rains, the forest floor along the Howqua River has come alive. These stunning fungi — all found in the same spot — are a beautiful sign of healthy soil and the thriving underground mycelium networks that connect and sustain the whole ecosystem. Autumn is prime fungi season in the valley. If you're out walking after rain, it's worth keeping your eyes on the ground as well as the view. Send in your Howqua nature images to landcare2@up2us.org.au and we will put it on the blog!
