Clean Up Australia Day 2026 – A Community Effort in Mansfield
On Sunday, we were thrilled to welcome 13 eager participants to the Up2Us office for this year’s Clean Up Australia Day.
After a quick briefing and collection of gloves and bags, we split into teams and headed out across town. Volunteers covered sections of High Street, along Highett Street, and down by Fords Creek — areas that see plenty of foot traffic, especially on a busy weekend in Mansfield.
It was refreshing to discover that, despite the large number of visitors our town welcomed the day before, Mansfield was reasonably tidy. While there was still litter to collect (there always is!), it was encouraging to see that community pride and responsible behaviour are alive and well.
By late morning, everyone returned to the Up2Us office to compare stories, tally up their collections, and enjoy a well-earned cuppa and biscuit together. These simple moments of connection are just as important as the clean-up itself — they remind us that caring for our environment is a shared responsibility, and one that’s best done together.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave up their Sunday morning to lend a hand. Small actions, when multiplied by a community, make a big difference.
We look forward to doing it all again next year!
