Goulburn Broken Landcare Facilitator Survey
Partnerships Against Pests – Community of Practice Development
Up2Us Landcare Alliance is delivering a project through the Partnerships Against Pests Program to strengthen pest plant and animal management across the Goulburn Broken catchment. This project focuses on building a community of practice among Landcare facilitators, alongside targeted training in best practice management of key species such as blackberry and gorse.
Over recent years, while awareness of pest issues has increased, the adoption of best practice management by landholders has remained inconsistent. Many landholders—particularly small-scale, lifestyle and absentee property owners—can feel overwhelmed by the cost, time and effort required, and may not always be motivated by traditional drivers such as productivity or legislative obligation.
This project will explore a Nature-led approach to pest management, which seeks to complement existing extension methods by focusing on environmental stewardship, biodiversity, and the protection of shared natural assets across private land. By connecting pest management to values such as landscape and habitat health, strengthening biodiversity and community connection to natural ecosystems, we aim to support more sustained and coordinated action.
Your input will help shape the design of this program, including workshop content and the structure of the facilitator network. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete, and your insights will ensure the program is relevant, practical and valuable for facilitators and the communities you support.
